I was at a moment in my life where I really felt
like I needed some direction from God and I was struggling with where my
life was headed as a single woman. I got on a airplane headed back home
from Seattle and while we were flying over the Rocky Mountains God spoke
to me. As I looked down at the majestic mountain range beneath me I felt
like He was telling my heart not to worry or fret. From up in this
airplane you can see so much, but if you were down on one of those
mountains your view would be very limited.
Our lives are like that so often. We are in
a valley, surrounded by a forest and huge mountains, and we cannot see
where our lives are headed. But God sees our lives from 10,000 feet up.
He can see where He is leading us, and in the end that journey is
beautiful. We may not be able to see the beauty because we are so
focused on our immediate trials and dangers, but He sees where we will
be years from now because He can see the whole picture.
Just like the Rockies in all their beauty that
day, my life can beautifully lived for God. He knows where He is leading
me and I just need to fully trust Him. Less than a month after this
experience, I started dating my fabulous husband. I still think back to
that special moment I had with God over the Rockies and remind myself
that even though I have different struggles than I did at that moment,
the lesson God spoke to me that day remains true, "Trust Me, I know what
I am doing."
